2010 was a good year for Delmarva NAVHDA. We underwent reorganization with a new Executive Council. The Council met almost monthly to work on ways to improve attendance at training days and also improve membership. I think we have accomplished both. We will continue with these improvements in 2011 and also add improving communications among our members. I would like to thank the Council for the time and effort they put forth.

We also held two tests in 2010. Both the spring and fall tests went well. I would like to thank the Judges, participants and also the members that worked these events. Without your help the events would not gone as well as they did.

We are in the process of recreating our website so please check on us regularly.

On May 22 we will host NAVHDA tests at Petersburg; we need the entire chapter to turn out and help.

Margaret Quillen was still looking for a few specialized volunteers. She will send out an email with a list. Please look it over and see where you can be of use.

Darlene and Ivan Mast have volunteered to work with any young dogs who might be al- most read to run in the NA test. Give them a call if you have a pup who needs a bit of help.

Of course, you are welcome to come out and watch the test, even if you don’t volunteer. Please bring a few dollars to donate to our kitchen as we will be serving hearty sandwiches and the like.

For our Judges dinner, we’d like to see everyone come on out for dinner. This is the time and place to get to know the judges, learn how they think, and pick up tidbits for future training.

You don’t have to have run a dog in the test to attend the dinner and glean infor- mation. Hope to see everyone there.

Joan will be selling Dinner Tickets and even if you can’t come, you can still buy a ticket and help the club out.

Joan has plans for a 50-50 raffle as well. Go ahead and send in a check to Joan
for tickets if you can’t make it to the Test.

We are looking for other ideas to raise money so we can do more for our members. If you have any ideas, I’d like to hear them.

Gene has volunteered to do an AKC Canine Good Citizenship Test and invite the general public. Everyone likes this idea, but we need to find the right venue.

In an effort to attract more members, we will begin advertising our training meetings and other events in the local papers. Many papers have on line calendars and we will definitely be posting our items there.

Finally, Paulette is looking into obtaining literature from NAVHDA and arranging for us to man a table at the Dock Dog competition on June 13 at the Delmar Waterfowl Club east of Dover (just past Intrastate 1 underpass) on route 8.

Gene will obtain some free signs and banners (whatever she can get) from Vis- taprint to dress up the table.

Darlene is coordinating for a Force Fetch Seminar mid-summer. The fee will be a modest $25. Details to follow.
